Section Two Comparable Products

Jaws
Thriller Codes and Conventions
Dark light effects underwater.
The scene is set at night to create a better atmosphere.
Opening scene gives insight into the main characters nature and personality.
Camera Work
It gives the point of view camera angle of jaws creates a better effect on the impact.
Extreme wide shot with the sea being calm at the end to symbolise the calm after the storm.
Shot reverse shot.
The people are tracked as they run.
Partial vision of the shark as you just see the girl.
Mise-En-Scene
Bouy symbolises a metaphorical safety net.
The fence is broken symbolising that they are going somewhere they shouldn’t be.
There is also cuts in the fence which could symbolise the sharks teeth.
The girl is insignificant compared to the rest of the shot.
Sound
There is diagetic sound as the guitar is playing.
The music starts of calm but builds up creating tension.
The bell on the buoy rings to signify danger.
There is also non diagetic sound when the theme tune begins to play.
Graphics
The titles are big and in your face giving a bold impact much like the impact of jaws.

Dark and misty setting in the woods.
The words on the tree relate to the codes and conventions of thrillers.
HURT AGONY PAIN LOVE IT .

Tracking as she is running.
Zooms into her face to see her reaction.
Long shots of buildings.
Establishing shots of the woods.
Mise-En-Scene
Frequent use of mist also creating partial vision.
Set In a remote area, training facility for the FBI.
The sign on the tree hints at possible themes through out the film.
Sound
Diagetic sound of the woods when doing the asalt course and also non diagetic sound builds up tension as she is running
Editing
Fade in beginning with a sequence.
Slow pace time to process what is happening.
Graphics
Bold and easy to see. It tells you where the location is.
